Shorts and social

Macreto can cut 0 to 12 Shorts from every finished video: vertical (9:16), with subtitles, taken from the strongest moments of your video. It also writes matching posts for each platform. In the social calendar, you review everything, approve it, and let it post automatically.

Book Shorts

Section titled “Book Shorts”

You have two options:

  • When creating the video: under “New video”, use the “Shorts & Reels” slider to set how many Shorts to make.
  • Later: once your video is finished, choose the number under “How many Shorts?” in the “Shorts & social posts” card and click “Book … Shorts”.

Create Shorts

Section titled “Create Shorts”
  1. Open your finished video.
  2. In the “Shorts & social posts” card, click “Create … Shorts & posts”.
  3. Macreto cuts the Shorts and writes the posts. You can close the page.
  4. When they’re ready, click “Go to social calendar”.

You’ll also find the Shorts in the “Files” tab under “Shorts & Reels”.

Connect accounts

Section titled “Connect accounts”
  1. Open “Social calendar” in the menu.
  2. Under “Connected accounts”, click the platform you want to connect (for example “Connect YouTube”).
  3. Sign in to the platform and allow access.

Supported platforms include YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Threads, and Pinterest. If you work with projects, you can connect separate accounts per project.

Review and approve posts

Section titled “Review and approve posts”

The social calendar shows all posts with their date and status: “Draft”, “Approved”, “Scheduled”, “Published”, “Error”, or “Discarded”.

  1. Open a post.
  2. Check the Short and the text. Change the text, title, or “Time (German time, CET/CEST)” if needed, and click “Save”.
  3. If needed, check “Label as AI-assisted” and “Contains ads / affiliate links”.
  4. Click “Approve”. Macreto then posts on time.

More options:

  • Move: drag a post to another day.
  • Approve all: “Approve all drafts from …” approves all drafts of a project at once.
  • Take back: “Back to draft” pulls an approved post back as long as it isn’t scheduled yet.
  • Discard: “Discard” removes a post, “Restore” brings it back.
  • Post yourself: “Copy text” copies the text so you can post it yourself.
