Cancellation and your data

Your Macreto subscription can be canceled monthly. You can cancel in the app or without signing in via “Cancel contracts here”. You can export and delete your data yourself at any time.

Cancel in the app

1. Open “Plan & invoices” in the menu.
2. Click “Cancel”.
3. Confirm the cancellation on the next page.

The cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. Until then, you can keep using Macreto as usual. “Your plan” then shows “Cancelled as of …”.

Cancel without signing in

1. Go to Cancel contracts here.
2. Enter your first and last name, your account’s email address, and optionally your contract or customer number.
3. Choose the “Type of cancellation”: “Regular cancellation” or “Extraordinary cancellation” (with a reason).
4. Click “Cancel now”. You’ll immediately get a confirmation of receipt with date and time.
5. Open the email sent to your account’s address and confirm the cancellation with one click.

The cancellation is only carried out after this confirmation. That way, nobody can end someone else’s subscription. A regular cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period.

Withdraw from your contract

As a consumer, you can withdraw from your contract within 14 days. The details are in the cancellation policy.

1. Go to Withdraw from contract.
2. Enter your name, your account’s email address, and an optional note.
3. Click “Confirm withdrawal”.
4. Confirm the withdrawal via the link in the email sent to your account’s address.

Note

When you take out a subscription, you agree that Macreto starts providing the service immediately. What that means for your right of withdrawal is explained in the cancellation policy. This is not legal advice.

Export your data

1. Open “Account” in the menu.
2. Switch to the “Data & contracts” tab.
3. In the “Export my data” section, click “Download export”.

You’ll get a ZIP file with all your details, texts, projects, and download links to your videos (Art. 15 and 20 GDPR).

Delete your account

1. Open “Account” in the menu.
2. Switch to the “Delete account” tab.
3. Type “DELETE” to confirm and click “Delete account permanently”.

Caution

Deletion is permanent: your account, all projects, videos, brand files, and posts are deleted. A running subscription ends immediately. Invoices are kept because we’re legally required to. Export anything you want to keep first.

Raw recordings are deleted after 30 days

Macreto automatically deletes raw recordings (your uploaded tutorials and facecams) after 30 days of inactivity, for data protection and to save storage.

• The project is then marked as “Project archived”.
• Your finished videos, scripts, and texts are kept.
• You can’t start new steps in an archived project because the raw recordings are gone.

Tip

Download the finished video and package as soon as you’re happy with them. That way you have everything locally too.

Where is my data stored?

• The servers are located in Germany (Hetzner).
• Your recordings are not used for AI training.
• Your results belong to you.
• For businesses, there’s a DPA and the list of subprocessors.
