Research and script

Before Macreto writes your script, the AI researches your topic on the web and summarizes it with sources. You review that summary and approve it. Only then is your facecam script written, in your form of address and your tone.

What goes into the research

The research uses what you enter under “New video” and your uploaded tutorials:

• “Topic”: exactly what the video is about. The more specific, the more focused the research.
• “Sources, links & notes”: the AI reads linked pages in full (docs, changelogs, blogs, YouTube, for example) and runs its own web search on top. Your own notes take priority over the web.
• “Briefing”: who the video is for and what viewers should be able to do afterwards.
• Your tutorials: the AI listens to your screen recordings.

Tip

Use your notes to say what’s new and what you definitely want to show. That way it’s sure to end up in the script.

Start and approve the research

1. Upload your tutorials and click “Research the topic”.
2. Wait until the “Review the topic” step appears. You can close the page in the meantime.
3. Read the summary. You can find it again anytime in the “Topic & research” tab.
4. Optional: note what should be different under “Notes on the research”. The templates button gives you examples.
5. Click “Looks good – write the script”.

Your facecam script

The AI reviews your tutorials and writes your facecam script. It follows your brand kit: form of address, tone and voice, target audience, and video language. If you’ve created a voice profile under “Learn voice & style”, the script sounds even more like you (see Set up your brand kit).

If you set up several versions (for example “YouTube” and “Community deep dive”), you get one script with parts for all versions.

When the script is ready, the video page shows the “Your facecam script” card with three options:

1. “Start teleprompter”: the script scrolls up in your browser. See Recording.
2. “Word”: download as a DOCX file.
3. “Text”: download as a TXT file, for example for another teleprompter app.

If the research isn’t right

You don’t have to accept research as is. Write exactly what’s missing or should go under “Notes on the research”, then approve it. The AI takes your notes into account when writing the script.

If the research stops, click “Try again”.

Course lessons

For lessons from course mode, the research for the whole course applies. You start the script right away with “Write the script”, even without a screen recording.
