Your first video

This guide walks you through the whole flow once. You’ll need your screen recordings (tutorials) and, later on, a facecam recording of yourself.

Before you start: create an account

Go to app.macreto.com/registrieren.
Enter your name, email, and a password. Macreto is currently in closed beta, so you’ll need an “Invitation code”.
Click “Create account” and confirm your email address.

On your first visit, Macreto asks about your channel, how you address your audience, and your tone. You can skip this with “Later” and add it anytime in your brand kit.

Step 1: Create the video

Under “Videos”, click “New video”.
If you have more than one, pick the “Project” and the “Brand kit”.
Enter a “Working title”. It’s just for you; the AI suggests the final YouTube title at the end.
Describe exactly what the video is about in the “Topic” field. The more specific, the more focused the research.
Optional: add links under “Sources, links & notes” (one URL per line) plus your own bullet points. The AI reads linked pages in full, and your own notes take priority over the web.
Optional: use the “Briefing” to say who the video is for and what viewers should be able to do afterwards.
Under “Which videos should be made?”, choose one version or up to 3 (for example “YouTube” and “Community deep dive”).
Use the “Shorts & Reels” slider to set how many Shorts to make (0 to 12, Creator plan and up).
At the bottom you’ll see how many credits this video costs. Click “Create project”.

Step 2: Upload tutorials

Check “I own the rights to these recordings”.
Drag your screen recordings onto “Drag videos here or click”, or click it to pick them. Multiple files are fine.
Keep the tab open until the upload finishes.

Step 3: Start and approve the research

Once all tutorials are in, click “Research the topic”.
The AI listens to your tutorials, researches your topic on the web, and summarizes it. You can follow the progress live.
Read the summary. Add requests under “Notes on the research” if needed, such as “Drop point 3, add more on pricing instead”.
If the direction is right, click “Looks good – write the script”.

Step 4: Read the script and record your facecam

When the script is ready, you’ll see the “Your facecam script” card.
Click “Start teleprompter” to read it in your browser. You can also download it as a Word or text file.
Record your facecam with your camera. Slip-ups are fine; the AI cuts them out.
Upload your facecam recording(s), again checking the rights box.

Step 5: Build the video

Once your facecam is complete, click “Build the video”.
Macreto edits, builds slides and animations, creates AI images and music, and renders a preview. This takes a while, so feel free to close the page.

Step 6: Review

Watch the preview. It’s intentionally rendered at lower quality so it’s ready faster.
If you want changes, click “Open editor”, pause the video at the right spot, and note your request. Then click “Adjust video”.
When everything looks right, click “Looks good! Full quality, titles, thumbnails & description”.

Step 7: Finish and publish

After your “Looks good!”, Macreto renders the full-quality video. Titles, thumbnails, description, and chapters are created at the same time.

The “Files” tab has your video, thumbnails, and publishing package ready to download.
In the “Publishing” tab, you can adjust the “Chapters” and use “Compare thumbnails”.

If a step fails

If a step stops, the video page shows you why. Click “Continue from there” (or “Try again” for research) to restart it. Anything already finished is kept.
